Do I need a referral from my GP?No referral is needed. You can book directly with us — either online or by phone. We’re fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), so you can trust you’re in safe hands.

What should I wear?We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You may be asked to remove some layers depending on the area being treated, but your comfort and dignity are always prioritised.

How long is a typical appointment?Initial appointments (including assessment & treatment): around 1 Hour Follow-up appointments: approximately 45 minutes

What happens during my first session?Your osteopath will begin with a detailed consultation, including your medical history and symptoms. A physical assessment will follow, and you’ll usually receive hands-on treatment during this first session. We’ll also explain your diagnosis and outline your care plan.

Will treatment hurt?Most osteopathic techniques are gentle and should not be painful. You may feel some mild soreness afterward, similar to post-exercise fatigue — this usually settles within 24–48 hours.

How many treatments will I need?It depends on your condition, lifestyle, and response to treatment. Some people feel significant relief after just one session, while others may benefit from a short course of care.

Can osteopathy be used alongside other treatments?Yes, osteopathy works well in conjunction with physiotherapy, GP care, and other health interventions. We’ll happily work with your other healthcare providers if needed.
